The New Parent Welcome Guide is now available!
THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING YOUR ADVENTURES WITH THE CUB SCOUTS!
If you are a returning family but are registering a new Scout, please use the "new families" instructions for your new Scout. You will not need to reregister yourself as a parent.
Here's an overview of the steps
Complete and submit the registration form for our Pack
Submit payment for the Pack fee
Renew your registration through my.scouting.org and submit payment for Council and National fees
Make sure your Youth Protection Training (YPT) training has not expired
STEP 1 - Complete and submit the registration form for our Pack
This is a contact and information form for our internal use only. Registration must also be completed through the scouting.org website.
Complete the online form: Anza Pack 996 Registration 2024-2025.
STEP 2 - Submit payment for the Pack fee
The Pack fee for the 2024-2025 year is $85. Payment can be made by…
Online Zelle payment to anzapack996@gmail.com
Check payable to “Pack 996”. Checks can be brought to the next Pack or Den meeting.
STEP 3 - Renew your registration through my.scouting.org and submit payment for National and Council fees
This step renews your registration with the Cub Scouts organization, which in turn renews your registration with our Pack.
Each child and at least one parent or guardian must register.
Only registered adults can attend overnight events (Rocket Camp, etc.).
All registered adults are considered “volunteers” as Cub Scouts is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization.
You need to renew every year. The "automatic renewal" option does not actually renew you, it only sends an email when you registration is expiring.
Use the following link to log into your my.scouting.org profile page.
Your registration expiration date will be shown. If your registration is expired or soon to expire, you will be presented with a link to renew.
Submit payment for the National and Council fees shown on the renewal page. The fees for 2024-2025 are...
$170 total for each Cub Scout
National Fees: $85
Council Fees: $85
$100 total for each Parent
National Fees: $65
Council Fees: $35
Before continuing, please read this note about Youth Protection and Mandated Reporter Training requirements
Both the Cub Scouts organization and the State of California treat children’s safety very seriously. As a result, every registered adult must complete these steps to make sure we’re keeping our kids safe.
At least one parent or guardian must register and complete both steps 5 and 6. Only registered adults can attend overnight events (Rocket Camp, etc.). In total, these two requirements will take up to a couple of hours.
STEP 4 - Make sure your Youth Protection Training (YPT) training has not expired
The YPT is a BSA-specific training to help create the safest and most secure environment possible for our Scouts.
Once logged into your profile on my.scouting.org, from the top left corner of your page, click Menu then My Training from the menu list. Your YPT status and expiration date will be shown.
The YPT certification expires every 2 years. If your YPT is expired, you will need to retake the course. If your YPT is close to expiring, retaking the course is recommended so there is no lapse in coverage. There is a link to retake the course if necessary.
NOTE - California’s Mandated Reporter Training (AB-506)
In 2022, the State of California passed Assembly Bill 506 that requires volunteers of a youth service organization to complete child abuse and neglect reporting training as well as a background check. The Boy Scouts of America organization, which runs Cub Scouts, considers every registered adult as a volunteer, thus requiring completion of the AB-506 requirement.
Your AB-506 training does not expire. If you previously completed AB-506, you do not need to complete it again.
Thank you for your diligence in completing the registration process! We’re looking forward to a great year with you and our Cub Scouts!
